  • Shared pathway bridge at creek crossing

    Connecting Communities - Mossman CBD-Mossman Gorge Shared Pathway Project

    Construction of 2.2km of new concrete shared pathway from Mossman CBD to Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre as part of Douglas Shire Council’s Connecting Communities works program. The project included installation of a new prefabricated pedestrian bridge and associated piling and abutments, extension of a large multi cell culvert structure, cane rail crossing concrete works, new drainage culverts, earthworks, pavement works and bitumen seal. The project improved access to the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre by providing a designated pathway separate to the roadway.

    We were engaged by Douglas Shire Council to provide constructability advice during the preconstruction phase. Subsequently, Londino Project Services were involved in managing and finalising the detailed design, tender package and were part of the tender evaluation panel. We were ultimately appointed as Superintendent’s Representative for the construction Contract sharing our technical expertise and construction knowledge to successfully deliver this critical safety infrastructure.

  • Drainage construction site

    Warner Mowbray Drainage Upgrades, Port Douglas

    This trunk drainage upgrade project involved the installation of a multi cell DN675 RCP stormwater line, 1800x600 culverts, stormwater pits, kerb and channel and pavement reinstatement on Warner Street and Mowbray Street in Port Douglas. The project was the final stage of the drainage upgrades and was required to improve the functionality and efficiency of the drainage network. Given the location of the works within the Port Douglas CBD, extensive planning and stakeholder engagement was required to reduce the overall impact of construction activities to local businesses and residents.

    Londino Project Services were engaged by Douglas Shire Council to provide constructability advice, co-ordinate the detailed design and assist with procurement. Furthermore, we provided Superintendent’s Representative Services supporting the project with overall construction verification, contract administration and technical support. A significant number of challenges were faced by the project team including existing underground asset relocations, PASS Management, groundwater management, unsuitable foundation and handling of waste materials. Londino Project Services worked closely with Council and the Contractor to manage these issues and ensure a favourable outcome for all parties.

    Yorkeys Knob Boat Ramp Launching Facility

    This new recreational boating facility was the first of its kind in Queensland and featured a 6-lane boat ramp with 3 floating walkways, 2 new breakwaters for wave protection, dredged basin and access channel, reclamation, queuing beaches,135 car-trailer park spaces, 63 single car park spaces, new access road and footpath, new amenities block and golf course protective fencing. The project was Constructed by Principal Contractor Hall Contracting on behalf of the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Cairns Regional Council.

    Londino Project Services were engaged by Hall Contracting to fulfil the roles of Project Engineer and Contractor’s Quality Representative for the project. With our strong technical experience, engineering and civil construction background we added significant value to the Construction project team throughout project delivery. Our involvement included procurement and subcontractor management, quality management to DTMR Specification, co-ordination of construction works and technical support.

  • Mareeba Water Treatment Plant – Booster Pump Station Project

    Date completed: July 2022 - current

    Construction of a new booster pump station including earthworks, design and construction of a new pump station building, supply an installation of new pumps, installation of MSCL suction and discharge pipework, manufacturing of electrical switchboards and controls, supply and installation of surge vessels, connections into existing water infrastructure and final testing and commissioning. The new booster pump station replaced the existing pump station and elevated water reservoir which was a critical component to improve Mareeba’s water security.

    Londino Project Services were engaged by Mareeba Shire Council during the pre-construction stage to co-ordinate the detailed design and pre-tender package. Following award of the construction Contract, we were appointed Superintendent’s Representative to further support delivery of the project. The scope of works included several engineering disciplines with multiple trades and services requiring significant management and technical involvement.

  • Anzac Avenue Mareeba Water Main Upgrade – AC Pipe Renewal

    The Anzac Avenue Water Main Upgrade project was completed as part of Mareeba Shire Council’s AC Pipe Renewal Program. The project involved the trenched installation of approximately 3km of new various diameter DICL and PVC water main including road crossings and pavement reinstatement, house connections, numerous cut-ins and connections to existing water mains and traffic management. The project was required to replace the ageing water infrastructure to current standards and reduce Council’s maintenance requirements.

    Mareeba Shire Council commissioned Londino Project Services to provide project management services for the construction Contract. Our responsibilities included fortnightly progress meetings, progress claim review and certification, assessment of variations and EOT’s, hold and witness point inspections, RFI’s, review of compliance testing and QA, stakeholder management, co-ordination of works with relevant Council departments, general construction management and defects management.

  • 2022/23 FNQROC Regional Sewer Relining Program

    Date completed: November 2022 – current

    Project comprised of the relining of existing sewer mains in Mareeba as part of the 2022/23 FNQROC Regional Sewer Relining Program. Council identified numerous existing assets that required relining to extend the operational life and improve the efficiency of the network. The sewer mains were internally relined with a PVC liner which was completed with specialised relining equipment from inside pipe instead of traditional trenched pipe replacement.

    Mareeba Shire Council appointed Londino Project Services to fulfill the role of Superintendent’s Representative for the relining package. Our responsibilities included site inspections, coordination of night works, liaising with Council operations for pump assist and flow control and ongoing general support during the project. Our team played a vital role in managing ongoing risks and issues that arose throughout the project together with the Contractor and Council’s sewer department.
